In many workplaces today teamwork is encouraged and emphasized.
As employees, our ability to succeed depends on our ability to work with
a number of people, many of whom differ from us by race, gender, culture,
background, education, thinking styles, etc.
Leveraging the full contribution, creativity, innovation and potential
of all team members is fundamental to the teams' ability to become high
producing and to be fully functioning.
Using an advanced theory developed by Simmons Associates, Inc.,
this program is highly interactive in nature. Participants develop and
practice new skills for improving team productivity, problem solving,
creativity and quality.
- To learn how to develop an effective team using mission and values.
- To identify the characteristics, skills and disciplines of high performance
teams.
- To identify the roles and responsibilities of team leaders and team
members.
- To assist each team member in identifying his/her own personal work
and interaction styles and understand how these affect their interactions
with other team members.
- To reinforce participants' sensitivity to and awareness of racial,
gender, ethnic and other Diversity-related issues in the workplace.
- To help team leaders and team members understand how to develop teamwork
within a diverse group and leverage the team's Diversity to improve
team effectiveness, productivity, problem solving, creativity and quality.
- To develop and practice techniques for team brainstorming, decision
making, problem solving and conflict resolution.
- To facilitate the transference of workshop learning through effective
action planning
