Diversity-Friendly Selection Interviewing

Companies need to be able to identify, attract and retain the best people. Selecting the best candidate is a critical step in this process and when done effectively can prevent costly turnover.

The workshop teaches participants to develop diversity-friendly selection requirements that lead to appropriate hiring decisions and to follow a culturally competent interviewing methodology so as to establish deeper rapport and get beyond the veneer. The process is fully compatible with behavioral interviewing techniques to accurately assess the candidates' capabilities and job-related personal characteristics for success in the organizational setting, and in the specific position

Key Objectives:

  • Learn how to plan and conduct effective, legal selection and promotional interviews
  • Discover ways to assess the background, technical skills and capabilities, and other performance-related attributes of all candidates
  • Increase awareness of individual cultural and gender biases and learn to manage these to ensure
    bias-free interviewing practices
  • Develop recruiting skills and strategies to increase the diversity of the candidate pool
